On November 9, 2016 “Creating a new model of family and community oriented services for children with special needs” Project started in the Kharkiv Regional Specialized Baby Home #1.
This project is supported by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and is carried out in partnership with the Ukrainian-German Medical Association and the law firm ILF.
“The project will be implemented as a part of the Early Intervention Programme. In Kharkiv another NGO – “Early Intervention Institute”, managed by Anna Kukuruza, also works under this Programme,” said Nazgul Cholponbayeva, UNICEF curator of the Programme.
During the event the Project team presented to the audience goals, objectives, main activities and expected results of the Project. Employees of Kharkiv Regional Specialized Baby Home #1 discussed opportunities and threats which may arise in the process of baby home transformation into the “Center of Rehabilitation and Palliative Care with Early Intervention Services”.
The chief doctor of Kharkiv Regional Specialized Baby Home #1 Roman Marabyan said: "We must be prepared to work in the new environment. We need to expand the range of services that we offer to our children and their parents. And to be able to do this we must evolve and do not stop in our development. All of us hope the project will help us in this".
