On March 17, 2017 specialists of Kharkiv regional specialized baby home #1 Julia Alimova, Tetyana Teleha and Irina Gordienko conducted the last training on the children rehabilitation for representatives of baby homes from eastern regions of Ukraine.

On the final day, participants under supervision of trainer Julia Alimova tried to develop a rehabilitation program and practiced SMART goals setting. Tetyana Teleha shared her knowledge of motor skills control, physical therapy strategies, hand techniques (hand on / hands off). The participants practiced to use of the key points. Tetyana highlighted the importance of supporting such strategy that was chosen by a child. She also stressed the need to take into consideration possible consequences of your actions. At the end of the training baby homes employees discussed with Irina Gordienko modern principles of rehabilitation and modern trends of pediatric rehabilitation development.

The training session “Rehabilitation of children with special needs” (5 trainings of total duration 35 training hours) was attended by 26 representatives of baby homes from eastern regions of Ukraine.

The training session was conducted under the Project “Creating a new model of family-and-community oriented services for children with special needs” supported by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
