Training session "Psychological support in palliative care" started

On April 3, 2017 the five-day training session for representatives of baby homes from eastern regions of Ukraine on psychological support for children and their families in palliative care started in Kharkiv regional specialized baby home #1.

Olga Zakhariya – psychologist of Belarusian Children's Hospice, Republican Clinical Center of palliative care for children, Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education, will lead this training session.

During the training session Olga Zakhariya will teach the specialists from various baby homes a comprehensive approach to children with terminal illness and their families.

The first training was devoted to the way of organizing palliative care in Belarus, principles of multi-professional team working, and practice of communication and teamwork skills.

The training session is conducted under the Project “Creating a new model of family-and-community oriented services for children with special needs” supported by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
