On September 12, 2017 the lawyers’ team of the project conducted a seminar on legal issues of Health care reform in Kharkiv regional specialized baby home #1 for representatives of Baby homes from different regions of Ukraine.

The speakers were members of the Kharkiv Expert Group in Health Care Reform, who, together with experts from the Ministry of Health Care of Ukraine, had been involved in elaboration of the central legal acts of Health care reform for more than two years and were directly engaged in the Baby home #1 reforming.

The experts explained new principles of health care financing, ways of reorganizing into a communal non-profit enterprise and employment issues during the reorganization process.

The team of lawyers shared their experience of Baby home reorganization and provided practical recommendations. All seminar participants received developed during the project materials on the Baby home transformation.

The seminar was conducted under the Project “Creating a new model of family-and-community oriented services for children with special needs” supported by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
