On 18 January 2016 III Anticorruption Forum was organized in Kharkiv by NGO “Movement for Cleanup” (“Rukh Az Ochyshennia” – in Ukrainian). The Forum consisted of two parts: “World Caf?” and a general panel where all-Ukrainian and Kharkiv cases of fighting corruption were presented.
Change Agency “Perspectives” Board members Мykhailo Dovgopol and Tetyana Chernetska moderated discussions on overcoming corruption in the health care system. Over 150 participants took part in the discussion. The discussions were aimed at answering the question “What can I do as a common citizen to overcome corruption in the health care system?”
"Among others the following ideas surfaced: provide publicity for cases of corruption among doctors (through websites, social networks, etc.), promote protection of patient rights, require transparency of state regional programs in health care. Clearly, the healthcare system primarily needs systemic changes "from above", but without active participation of the community in the process of change we do not get the healthcare we want", - Mykhailo Dovgopol noted.
