On 18 March regular meeting of Kharkiv Expert Group in Medicine took place. Pre-project audit in Chuguyv was discussed as well as a workshop “Primary Healthcare Transformation in Ukraine” that will be conducted at the end of April by Kharkiv Expert Group. The workshop supported by "Kiev Dialogue" will bring together over 60 doctors and administrators who work for primary healthcare in Kharkiv oblast and other regions of Ukraine as well as international experts from Germany, Estonia and Georgia.

The Head of Kupyansk City Council Healthcare Department Natalya Cherkashina presented a plan of radical transformation of primary healthcare in Kupyansk for the near future. It was agreed that Kupyansk with its efforts to bring primary healthcare under European standards will become part of Kharkiv Expert Group activities. The Group will monitor and provide consulting support for Kupyansk Healthcare Department and family doctors.

Kharkiv regional reform office representatives stressed the importance of viewing primary healthcare in Ukraine through the prism of emerging capable communities and overall decentralization reform, issues of medical provision being raised more often than any others by emerging community leaders. It was discussed that Kharkiv Expert Group could play a role of consultant for emerging communities.
