On 1 June Chuguyiv once again hosted training "Effective management practices for family doctor" from Change Agency “Perspectives” in the framework of the Project supported by the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Donetsk (Dnipro office). 16 doctors and nurses took part in the training. Trainers were Elena Reshetnyak and Mykhailo Dovgopol.

Together with participants trainers analyzed 2nd round of business game "Choosing a family doctor." According to the game scenario participants, who have the role of family doctors chose a legend and were trying to attract patients to contract to her or his practice. In fact, the game reflects the new realities of primary health care - free choice of family doctor and "money follow the patient". Once again there were "doctors" who didn`t receive a single vote from the patients. Conclusions from participants – one should listen to the patient, try to understand what they want and to develop her practice focusing on the patient's wishes.

Doctors were introduced to the basics of management (management cycle, levels of management). These simple concepts were the best to sum up the game. We were talking about The Dream as a source of professional inspiration as well as a true basis for the strategic plan of successful practice. Not everyone believed, but it turned out that many participants have their own dream as to what should the family doctor practice look like. After training some doctors were reluctant to leave as they wanted to discuss where to get money to develop private practice or how to use modern gadgets in family doctor`s practice...

On June 8th stage will pass to professor Alexey Korzh, head of the department of family medicine in Kharkiv Institute of continuous education of doctors, with a lecture on modern aspects of treating the most common diseases.
