On September 14, 2016 in Chuguyiv the lecture "Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Asthma" was carried out for family doctors and nurses.

Professor Oleksiy Korzh, Head of the Kharkiv Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education, Head of Kharkiv Association of Family Physicians, and member of Kharkiv expert group on medical reform, and Sergiy Krasnokutsky, the Associate Professor of "General practice - family medicine" department, gave the lecture.

Participants reviewed the effective COPD`s therapy and methods of COPD`s diagnosis. The lecturer emphasized the importance of an early diagnostic, when symptoms (such as morning cough, dyspnea, and etc.) start occurring. COPD effects middle age people and reduces the quality of their life. That’s why preventive methods are important, such as vaccination against flu, smoking cessation, and others. Preventive methods’ promotion is an important task of family doctors.

The most valuable things from the lecture for the participants were the information about pathogenesis of COPD and sequential therapy of COPD. Series of lectures are conducted under the project "Transformation of primary health care in Chuguyiv" financed by the International Renaissance Foundation.
